Breast cancer awareness (BCA) is a cause that is very close to the hearts of all our Woops! family One of our co-founder’s mom suffered from this disease and battled her way out of it in a brave and inspiring way. Also, several of our franchise owners have been diagnosed, or have friends and family who have fought with this disease as well.
The BCA campaign is our flagship campaign. We have been doing it for several years now and it has become a part of our identity. We are very proud to take part in it, and from year to year, we try to improve and increase its impact.
This is a perfect time to remind all our dear ladies how important it is to be aware of your health for the sake of yourself and all your loved ones who want you here for many more years to come. So please, go get tested.
Join us in going pink!
At Woops! we are firm believers that early detection is a woman’s best defense against breast cancer, which is why for 6 years in a row now we have added our grain of sand by donating profits from our macaron boxes sold in the months of October to BCA foundations.
Collaborating with organizations that promote breast cancer awareness or lead in research, is something we are profoundly proud of. If we can encourage even a few women to go and get tested, we have made a difference.
For this reason, this year we will be donating 10% of profits from our boxes, sold in both our locations and website, to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. This foundation raises funds to support the research for a breast cancer cure and to improve the lives of so many who have been affected by this disease.
Besides, throughout the month, in honor of BCA, we will have a special box full of our pink French macarons: Rose, Pink Champagne, and Strawberry.
Why do we support BCA?
We strongly believe that companies such as ourselves, have a responsibility to use the power of our brand, our nationwide platform, and our exposure to do good and help others.
Apart from this, we are a feminine brand: our team is predominantly made up of women of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds, and cultures, and our customers are mostly women, as well.
Woops! & BCA
Swathi, one of our dear franchisee owners, is a perfectly healthy woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 34. “When I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer, it tore apart my family, but I knew I had to stay strong for my girls. It was challenging, but I was determined to live optimistically. After two years of constant, rigorous treatment, I was declared breast cancer-free”.
Melanie, another of our amazing franchisee owners, has a sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer which was discovered on her annual mammogram; she had no symptoms. “She is a second-grade teacher in Texas. She never missed a day of school unless it was her chemotherapy treatment day. Cancer has changed my sister and my family but it has not changed our love for each other”.
Dear ladies, we strongly encourage you and all women to go and get tested regardless of your age or lifestyle. Early detection is imperative and can save your life.
Now that you know a little bit more about Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our BCA Campaign, join us in raising awareness, helping, donating, and, ultimately, save more lives.
